I bought a 10 round AK mag and I have been having problems with it jamming the rifle. When I fire it and the rifle is cycling the next round gets part way up the feed ramp and the very back rim of the round gets jammed under the bolt. I would take pictures but my dial up will take too long to upload it. I have filed off the burrs on the mag and polished it and it still does it just not AS much. Any ideas? I was thinking the follower might be the problem.

Cheap AK Mag Problems

I suggest a picture? Just reduce the resolution of the picture, even a 240kB picture would only take you 30 seconds to UL at 8kBps. -
Well I think I'll shoot it today and I'll bring my camera and get a pic of it if it jams again(which it probably will).Comment

If you put one of those Tapco plastic 10-round followers in a 5-round steel mag, THAT's your problem right there. Those followers aren't worth even bothering with.

Can you try another mag? The Chicom 10rd one are pretty good.

its the mag that giving you the problem. when you pull the bolt carrier back and then slowly move the bolt carrier forward. watch the bolt move the bullet forward. the two lips that holt down the bullet, guides the bullet forward and up. if those lips has a a wrong angle it will not guide it in the hole. be sure to be careful and do this at the range and not at home.Comment

you may also have to file the rear mag tab, the top part that touches the safety tab that is attached to the receiver, do NOT file the mag latch on the rifle or the underside of the mag tab that is at an angle.
To do this you need a larger flat file and some steady hands then test fit every so often. I got about 300 AK mags and had to do this to 50 or so to get them to feed perfectly and eject perfectly.C-130Herk and AK-loverComment
