    MG42 kit

Anyone have any comments about this MG42 conversion kit for the 10/22?

They are bit pricey for a clam shell design for the Ruger 10/22. They have been out for years and always figured the price would drop after time but they are still getting pretty penny for them.

You folks can own semi-auto MG42's correct?

Because I live ACROSS state lines I can have THIS MG42...

    thanks,
    Ron

I cobbled one together many, many years ago.

Looks better than the Krinker Plinker. I gave it a wipe with the appropriately colored paints to give it a worn metallic look.

Then I discovered that the left side of the "receiver" has an indentation that will hold a 5.56 round. So now it's got a 9 round belt hanging there in a rather decorative way.

The glue used to hold the muzzle device was substandard to say the least. I just went ahead and drilled and tapped the plastic parts and carefully locktited the assembly with .25 ss setscrews.

The sights are garbage. But it's still fun.
