Aimpoint T1 - Lower 1/3 or abolute co witness?

Just wondering what mount should I get for a T1? 1/3rd or Absolute?

I will be using it with a standard front sight and a fixed LMT rear.

I prefer lower 1/3rd. Its a little more forgiving when shooting some of the more unconventional positions. It doesn't require a perfect cheekwd like 100% cowitness does. Especially with the smaller 20mm tube of the micro (even shooting both eyes open).

I also prefer 1/3 - faster on target without having to be right on the gun like tomd said
you don't rise to the occasion,
you just fall back on your level of training.

I have the exact same setup as you on a DD M4V1. I chose lower 1/3 in a larue mount. I really like it. I have my rear LMT sight modified for RIBZ, giving me 25, 50 100, 200, 300 400 etc on the sights, and my T-1 zeroed for 50. It's a nice set up and works well for me.

I like absolute, but I ran with just irons for a really long time, so I'm just used to that particular cheek weld. Nothing wrong either way, go with what works for you.

I prefer a solid cheek weld.

Ive always preferred absolute, but hardly a huge difference IMO

I went with absolute on my HK MR556 on the LaRue mount. It feels right to me, but it might be different for you.

I like absolute so I can easily check zero on the RDS to see if anything has shifted.

Thanks. I think Im going to go with absolute since Im used to iron sight cheek weld already and prefer to keep consistent.

1/3-- quicker target acquisition up to 100 meters IMO. Anything further out, I'll flip up my rear BUIS and do absolute CW for more precision shooting. If your RDS is set up correctly, you don't need to check for zero every time (you're sights should not "shift") you shoot and you should have no problem with a solid cheek weld. YMMV.

Just wondering which model of the LaRue you went with? The LT660HK?

Get a KAC mount. And choose btw 3 heights.
