Predator Pursuit upper (and some)

So I recently acquired a lightly used 20" RRA Predator Pursuit upper from a local seller to match my complete lower just sitting on my desk. I already have a 16" BCM AR with a red dot setup but looking to use the Predator Pursuit to cover a broad spectrum of shooting disciplines: benchrest, varmint, steel plates at 500 yards & competition.
Need suggestions on what scope magnification is suitable for these needs? Also opinions/thoughts on getting the upper threaded so that I can fit a compensator (possible 3 gun work)?

Fixed 10x, or 3-9x. If you want accuracy, leave the target crown alone. Comps only help faster follow up shots, won't help with accuracy.

If you want to go out to 500 yards, 1-4x power is probably not enough for accuracy. But, if you really want a 1-4x, check out the Leatherwood Hi-Lux CMR.

That sucker would be a bit heavy for 3 Gun, but doable. Personally, I like a little more magnification. I would go 2-10 or 4-14 or something else similar. I have Burris 4-16x50mm on my Bushmaster V-Match 20" .223 and Sabre Defense 6.5 Grendel 24". I just put a Burris SixX 2-12x50 on my .300 AAC BLK. For my three gun rifles I go Burris Fullfield II 2-7x35mm and I like it.

I wouldn't get it threaded. It is just fine the way it is.
