        And your worried about this WHY? If you charging handle cant contain it for some reason, get a new latch. If it still bothers you, store it horizontally.

          the bolt carrier can slide backward out of the upper (partially) while the charging handle remains latched. i'd like to prevent that from happening. the bolt saver is exactly what i'm looking for.

          i'm worried about this because i would like to store and handle my uppers the way i see fit. thanks for the advice, but a $3 part allows me to do so.

              OK, OK, I have an even better solution. On the rare ocasion I have an upper that I do not have a lower for I just buy/build a new lower. 2 guns are better than 1.5 always!!!!!

                  I can imagine some people may want something like this but all my uppers have lowers attached to them. I would rather have complete rifles than an extra upper laying around.
