    Burris Fasfire on a Saiga

I just bought a Burris Fastfire and Midwest Industries AK sight mount for my converted Saiga. Anybody have this type of set up on thier AK? If so any pros/cons. I probably shouldve got input before the purchase but I had the money and wanted a reddot for the Saiga and thought this was the best set up.

It's good set up but not the "best" one IMO.
Mainly the red dot itself. You have to remove the sight to change the battery is the biggest drawback for me.

I'm running a fast fire on my ultimak rail, and I am very happy with it.
But I being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softely, because you tread on my dreams.

Try it if it works for you. I just put a Bushnell TRS25 on mine. So far so good!

Are you dead-set against a scope? I put a sidemount (from Amazon) and a Barksa scope on my AK round Saiga, and wow, it's a LOT of fun. Zero is not terrible, but if you remove the scope, might have to tweak it a bit.

Didn't cost much - the sidemount was $40 and scope was probably $60.

                  .

I like the Vortex but wanted something small for the AK, plus I plan on a getting a Vortex for one of my ARs. I don't want to run 2 of the same optic (have an EOTech for other AR).

I have also had a bad experience with a side mount. It cracked the first time I took it out.
