300 Win Mag Muzzle Brake

I just picked up a Remington 700P in .300 Win Mag. I am having Kyle over at XLR Industries get me a chassis for it and am on the fence about a muzzle brake. What would the advantages or disadvantages of having a muzzle brake on this rifle be? I am looking at the Surefire MB762-211R or possibly the MB762SS-SR25K. Does anyone recommend any other brands? I like the look of the Surefire, but they seem to be off-colored. Also, if I decide on a muzzle brake, does anyone know any reputable person in Orange County that could do the process? Lot of info here, hoping for some insight. Thanks.

For most people recoil is a major factor in their ability to shoot accurately. A muzzel brake will help reduce the recoil considerably on the 300 mag. They are loud though. If you don't like added noise and think the recoil will not affect your shooting then I say don't do it.

I am not really worried about the recoil, reduced would be nice but is not a must. Any effect on longer range shooting?

If your barrel is not already threaded for a brake then the threading process could potentially cause a detriment to your accuracy. Use a competent gunsmith if it needs threading. Any significant reduction in recoil is going to improve your long range shooting, I don't care if your the best shooter in the world.

Sorry, I don't, but there are a lot of guys on here from socal that can point you in the right direction.

Will check some out. Anyone know a good thread size for a muzzle brake on this rifle? -Or does it matter all that much?

Ammo bros in cerritos has a gunsmith. Not the cheapest.
bolsa gunsmithing is hit or miss. And slow if you didn't buy your parts from them.
