    Inter familial transfer of a rifle from out of state.

    My friends parents in south dakota wanna send him a gun. What are the hoops he has to jump through for legal reasons. I found info for when parents are in state but not out of state. Thanks guys.

      Short answer: Feds don't have 'intrafamilial'; interstate transfer generally needs an FFL in the state of residence of the person receiving.
