    New England Handi-Rifle Barrel Program

Hi folks, anybody take advantage of the New England accessory barrel program? I've got a bull barrel in .22-250 on one and I'd like to get a .308 bull barrel for it. Merry Christmas PAX

I have complete 357mag (Bored to Maxi) and 308 rifles and a spare 223 that fits perfect on the 308 frame.
Earlier this year I ordered a 35Rem in a gray lam stock with a spare Talo trapper 357 barrel. The barrel accessory program is strange in that you can call five time, talk to five people, and get five different answers as to whats in stock. They seem to runs of a few calibers at a time. Everything is strange since Remington bought them out last year and production moved to Ilion, NY.

I've purchased a few used barrels from the "Greybeards" classifieds and found all to fit my frames with no mods or very minor mods.

It seems once H&R was taken over by Remington a few years ago the barrel program became a disaster for a lot of shooters.

I would rather buy used and either fit it to my frame or if it just wouldn't fit sell it for another until I got one to fit.

There is never any problem selling a Handy barrel for what you paid for it...

H&R recently got their act together. It seems they had a glitch in their computer program, that wouldn't let folks at their customer service location see what the folks actually had at the factory/warehouse which is located in Ilion, NY.

Correct OldSchoolRanger, I saw Brian56's post awhile ago, he works for remington.

I've been on Graybeard for a few years and saw his post. I was lucky to get in touch with him a little over a year ago and he hooked me up with the correct path to get a 35Rem in a gray Lam stock and a spare Talo 357 that I'll ream to Maxi when I get time. -g
