Anyone have experience with one or both Muzzle Brakes? Which do you like better?
    -PWS (Primary Weapons Systems) FSC556

Look at a Smith muzzle break.

Surefire - As good or slightly better muzzle control and JP with less muzzle blast.

PWS was not a stable, "bouncy" when I shot it side by side with a JP.
        where are my pistol mags?

I like My PWS a lot but I want to give the surefire a shot one of these days.

I have both. Been using a pws for the past 2 years. And just installed the surefire a few weeks ago on a new build.

Seems like everyone has their own opinion.

Here is mine: Both feel pretty much the same while you shoot. They both make muzzle rise almost non existent and recoil is much tamer. The pws seems like there is a bigger "thud" sound compared to the surefire while shooting and you can feel the blast come back at you a little bit. The surefire sounded/reminded me of a standard A2 flash hider as far as the thump goes when you shoot.

Both have pretty violent muzzle blast if your standing next to someone shooting it. If your looking to save money/on a budget get the pws since it's equally as good. If your a baller and want the newest product that probably got popular because the magpul guys use it get the surefire. The pws was a little easier to install too.

JP Large Tactical or Tank Brake
-- I love the mythological significance given to Dum Dum Bullets. As if they're little tactical nukes, stacked up in "Assault Clips" ready to be "sprayfired" "from the hip" by pistol grip equipped "bullet hoses" instead of early variations of the softpoint bullets people have been using to take game with (and use for self-defense) for the last century.

I have the JP Tactical Compensator (beeny cooley style) on my 16" carbine.

At 100 yards the 4 MOA dot in my Aimpoint never leaves the 6" shoot n' see target.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND the style, which is similar style of the Surefire.

Is the SureFire one California Legal. I ask this because supposedly it is also a suppressor adapter...

For AR style brakes I have a single chamber AAC and a Smith. Both are loud, the Smith is non-indexing and I like that feature. I also have a Miculik and it's not only loud but does the "air wave" blast to each side. Also have a Nordic on an MR1 and of the bunch that seems to work best. The MR1 is not inclined to move very much anyway, it moves not at all with the Nordic brake.

I have a PWS on a 7.62X39 upper and it works very well. Reduces the recoil a bit, doesn't seem to amp up the noise all that much.

And FWIW I agree - the Surefire having suppressor capability isn't an issue. Surefire sells devices they market as brake/flash suppressor and that could be an issue depending on rifle type and configuration.

Both work very well though I prefer the Battlecomp.
