Newly Built AK-74

Hey guys just finished this rifle during the black weekend. I love this dam thing I only put two rounds through it so far to make sure it works. I will try to get out tomorrow to runs some rounds through it. Cant wait!!

I just ran some flat black all over but drying the parts in between each coat with a heat gun. Nothin special BECAUSE ITS A AK!!! HAHAHAHA

Had an all black Bulgarian 74 and it was sweet. Like the way the 5.45 shoots compared to the 7.62 Make sure you get a few 30rd mag rebuild kits for it. He-he-he.

Bootyfull rifle! Why not a side rail for optics? Since 5.45 caliber has more muzzle velocity & range over the 7.62!

BTW, avoid shooting thru thick brush, it will alter the trajectory significantly. The round was designed with a hollow cavity towards the front; so when it hits brush, it tends to over steer & yaw, since the rear is heavier, & change direction.

But when it hits living tissue, it causes horrific wounds!

I'm just about ready to try a Polish Tantal, but don't think it'll be a keeper... That round is nasty!

I totally forgot to get a scope rail but I will get a front to back rail and mount a reddot or scope. I do have a 6x42 SWFA that I just got with a scope kit I ordered from them. But anyways I dont think it will be easy to rip out the rivets and throw on a scope mount rail. I might go for a PSL though so its all good

I've got an excellent AK74 kit that I just picked up from RedChevyMan, and I'm hoping it turns out as nice as yours.

I picked up one of the Arms or America US-made virgin barrels.

The AK-74 is so much fun to shoot - I love how little recoil you get from 5.45x39, and you can't beat the price of the ammo at the moment...

Yes recoil is ridiculously small !! When I popped off the two shots almost seemed like a .22 LR rifle :O

I got mine from whatacountry.com with a barrel.
