Walmarts stock Remington 110 FMJ for about $27/50. The nice thing is that they print to the same POA as Remington 110 Soft point. I killed a deer at almost 100 yards with a single heart/lung shot. Heck of an exit hole. Aguilla ammo can be iffy, as it is about 150+ FPS slower, and shoot lower than Remington and Winchester. It works best it carbines with worn action springs. The hottest ammo is Brazillian Magtech. instead of the 1940 fps of RP, it clocks about 2010 fps.

The promag 10 rounders do indeed suck! I have yet to find really quality 10 rd. mags for the M1 carbine. I have some Korean 15 and 30 and they function flawlessly, and could be blocked to make them Ca legal. Honestly, I have the paratrooper stock , so mine is a safe queen by necessity anyways and does not see the light of California days...

Magazines that hold more than 10 rounds are NOT ILLEGAL TO POSSESS OR USE. They are illegal to make, import, etc. . .

But they are legal to use - AS LONG AS THE GUN DOES NOT HAVE A BULLET BUTTON AND IS OTHERWISE CONFIGURED PROPERLY.

ALSO - please do not put a folding stock on an M1 carbine. It serves no purpose, since you may run into OAl issues, and you will have to put a bullet button on it, and thus only run 10 rounders.

Sent from my brain, to yours. . .

To the best of my knowledge, it's just a run of the mill wood stock M1 Carbine. Said rifle belongs to a relative; I have not seen it yet. Just doing homework should I decide to get it.

Thanks for all the responses. It also looks as if one of our own, Exile Machine, has a couple of 10 round mags in stock.

          Thanks for the input.

Might want to look around here for more Carbine info. Also, this foum has a great marketplace and you can find almost anything you need to buy/sell/trade with other forum members, be it 10 rnd mags or spam cans of surplus 30 Carbine stuff. Believe they are 500 round cans or so.

Check out the Milsurp's Carbine forum. That is where REAL experts hand out. I'm 60 and I am fairly young....

Oh, then it's perfectly legal as is.

                M1 Carbine = California legal
                M1A1 Carbine = California felony

You can no longer transfer any 10+ round magazine, but if you already own some 15 or 30 rounders then you are free to use those in an M1 Carbine.

Mssr. Elegante, yeah, I carried a M3, briefly when I was in the Corps back in 1960, it was simi/auto select with a gigantic infrared scope mounted. Of course it was tethered to a humongus and heavy battery pack. (I'd rather carry a BAR than that thing). I think the M2 was also simi/auto select without the scope. I'll have to check out the M1A1, that's what my relative called it, so I can't swear what it really is.

                  Thanks

Thanks Mssr.E, I'll have to check for sure which one "he" has. He is retired Army Sp. Ops Delta, so it could be either one. If it is the M1A1 paratrooper, then back to the drawing board.

                      Thanks for taking the time,...appreciated.
