Newbie questions about FFLs and stocking dealers.

I live in Southern Orange County and am looking to buy a Saiga rifle or maybe an AK if the price is right.
There has been someone selling them at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds gun show but the people there were rude and seems like the prices are way high.
I have read quite a bit here and other sites about how AKs with out the pistol grips are legal and would like to replace the one I took out of state upon the onset of the Cali. AWB...such as it is.
That rifle likes it in Arizona so I want to get a new one here.
Does anyone know in So. Cal. who is a reputable dealer and has these things in stock off hand?
I'm willing to patronize a home dealer so long as they are on the up and up.
You know, like someone here has done business with them and had no issues.
Again I'm in Southern OC so I'm willing to drive a bit to get to one, maybe 100 miles.

Yep, I'm doing the same thing. At Gunrunner booth they had one in thier booth for $550 at the show - pricey.

You've got J & J Armory in Santa Ana. They had 2 or 3 saiga 7.62's and an Azex AK last time I was there.

I was gonna order a Saiga 7.62 from DD's and in the process of trying to find an FFL to recieve it i ended up calling a bunch of local San Diego gun shops.
When i ended up calling Wholesale Guns in Santee the guy asked how much i could get them for at DD's..he ran the numbers and told me what he could get it to me if he ordered it at the out the door price.
Including tax, fee's and DROS it ended up being $40 cheaper in the long run than ordering from DD's and i was supporting a local gun shop.

So i guess the final word is call around and do your homework and realize that there are a few FFL's that won't touch Saiga's.
With a few phone calls you may end up saving yourself time and money.

Well this last Saturday I was at the Costa Mesa gun show.
I met Hector from CWS, he was not real friendly, in fact not at all, and that fits in keeping with him ignoring two very polite e-mails asking about a PTR 91.
I have a loooooong list of off list guns and lowers to buy.
He won't be selling them to me.
I found J&J and they answered questions, had a rifle I wanted in stock and we did the deed right then and there.
I'll pick my rifle up next week.
If all goes well then I will be seeing about that PTR from them or Lan World through Ade's.

He's a real gentleman, and a pleasure to deal with. He is super helpful, and he supplies several CA gunstores with some of their more "exotic" black rifles. This means your transfering FFL may do business with him and already have their FFL on file with Chris. Saves a little time and effort.

I already talked with Ade about him and that's a viable option.
I'll likely contact him(Chris) when I'm ready for a PSL as I have read elsewhere here he doesn't mind making them Kali. legal and pick it up and Ade's.

gotta remember he has all kinds of fruit loops comming up to him all day long. I have delt with him and he and his staff were top notch. then again so is chris at lan world. good luck with the rest of your purchases.

If you buy from the dealers around in SOCAL here....odds are it started here already.....

I deal w/ 1000's of people at gunshows....we are the reason there are now 5-10 dealers who also sell BBR....at the gunshows....

Well...I haven't a clue what you wanted to know about PTR-91s and I have know idea what you wanted at the show.........

I tried on two occasions to speak to you at the show and you looked at me, acknowledged me once and walked bolt off while I was in mid sentence while I was asking.
The first time you blew me off I figured it was because you were busy. The next time you walked away and started talking to the tall dude with the glasses who works with you.
This was about the time some dude was trying to sell you a savage rifle.
Also, if you read your emails you would know what I wanted!
If you have another email address I'll be glad to forward the TWO e-mails Michelle seems to have no clue about.
