    Zeroing my ACOG TA31F..

I was wondering what I might do about zeroing in my ACOG. The correct way is to zero at 33 meters (36 yards). The problem is Chabot doesn't have a 36 yard range only 20, 50, and 100 yard ranges. Any suggestions?

I've never heard of 36 yards. Is it specifically for the ACOG?

I was told to zero all my optics at 50 or 100 yards.

Not sure if its the same with 223, but 762x39 its common to zero at just about 40 yards, and it carries over to 200 yards. Might be same concept.

My understanding is that you zero an ACOG at, 100 meters so that the bdc lines up. I never heard of the 33 meters.

I may be wrong, with the ACOG and it's BDC, the intended zero is at 100yards. Some people would set their targets at 33 meters (36 yards) and use the 300m reticle on their ACOG to zero the sight, therefore, when using the 100m reticle it should be okay at 100 meters. Setting the target at 33 meters makes it easier to check zero and some ranges don't extend out to 100 meters.

I sighted mine in at 100 YARDS using 62grain fmj and it works fine.

But I have also read the 36/300 thing.

The reticle is actually calibrated in meters.

When we (USMC) zero our ACOG's we do it at 300 meters or 36 yards which simulates 300 meters. If we shoot at 36, we will confirm at 100 meters.
                Maybe this will help.

So when you guys zero at 36 yards, do you guys use the 300m reticle on the ACOG?

One more question, does that zero method also work for the TA01 model of ACOGs?

Should be the same for all of them.

Like any optic, it should be zeroed at the distance you plan on shooting it.
