Take this for what it's worth, I don't proclaim to be an expert or anything, just enjoying marksmanship...

I own the ACR, I'm up to a total of 550 rounds through it or so. No FTF, FTE with 5.56 or .223 rounds. BUT all my shooting has been off hand or from the bench... and at the range I go to, I only shoot a round every 3 seconds.

With that in mind, I'm a fan of my ACR. I really love the feel of it as it's built pretty solidly. My only complaint as of now is that it gets really tiring shooting it from the off hand as it's super front heavy. If/when BM decides to release spare barrels, I'll purchase one to get the weight worked off of it.

Thanks brother. It's my favorite beater carbine. It has 18k rounds through it. Not one issue. It has gone through 1k of wolf one day in a muddy course in Arizona once too. Good times.

            God No.

Rather get an LMT Piston than that POS.

Ah, the good old "1000 flawless rounds" reviews. Unless those 1000 flawless rounds were fired in rapid succession in one or two sittings...

I threw 81 strikes! Clearly I'm capable of a pitching a perfect game every time, I must be at least as good as Tim Lincecum! Oh wait - I threw 1 strike at a time.

Let me try to answer the OP's original question, if he is still paying attention.......

Shortly after I bought my first AR (a very normal 16" DPMS), I had to have an ACR. I'll keep this very simple: Is the ACR worth the $1k more than my AR? NO,NO, NO. Am I glad I bought the ACR? Yes, yes, yes. It's a neat and different AR, and if you like Magpul's products, then you would probably like this weapon even more.

My ACR will stay in my collection as long as I keep shooting .223 (and at 100 yds, the ACR shoots tighter groups than my AR with the same optic).
Reloaders: Stay safe, even the things you don't see may bite you. Read more here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=495909

Oh yeah? My HK45 went through three boxes of ammo before being tucked into the safe and it didnt jam once. That proves its the best pistol ever made hands down. Trouble is that now that I fired a whopping 150 rounds out of it, I may have a hard time selling it as its clearly at the end of its life
Don't get it, my post said nothing about round count
My post did say from day one the gun had nothing but problems and could never be remedied.

Thanks for all the input guys. I know a scar is a similar design, but is it worth the $300 more than the ACR?

Hmm... I'd have to say again the answer is NO. However I do think the SCAR is a well built rifle with great balance and weight. Is it worth its ridiculous sticker price? Not for me it isn't.
