    Remote switch mounting

What is the best way to mount a remote switch for flash lights to the hand guard of a rifle or shotgun?

I used a zip tie and threaded the wire through my rails. It all depends on the switch, what you have on the gun and what your OCD level is. I have seen guys use duct tape, or inner tube tire rubber... I have seen guys use a $20 mount made for it. Its your call and every set up is different. LaRue makes a special clip that secures the wire to the rail.

How would you use a zip tie for the switch? wouldn't that just turn the switch on?

Not necessarily; You could zip tie the top & bottom of the switch, which will most likely not trigger it.

I'm waiting for my upper to come in and I'll be using a Magpul AFG because I can't use a vertical pistol grip. Does anyone have experience using one of those with a momentary tail cap?

tactical rubber band (cut inner tube) is my method of choice
you don't rise to the occasion,
you just fall back on your level of training.

On my Mossberg 500 I used a nice thick bead of black rtv silicone on the backside of the switch. Let it dry a couple of days before use. Been on over a year, has not come off yet. When I want to remove it, I'll just peel silicone off.

                  YMMV, this works for me.

This is how I hold the rifle when I need the to use the switch
