Another Sub 2000 Build

Getting a legal Sub 2000 into California was a bit of a challenge, but I was finally able to get my baby into Communist territory.

Big shout-out to Rick at Precision Tactical in Atascadero. He is a Class 7 FFL and can import non-street-legal weapons and "legalize" them before they leave the shop.

Why was it a challenge? All you need is a BB (readily available online) and a 1/2" stock extension to get 30" oal that can be made and installed within minutes. Pretty simple. I've had mine for quite awhile now

It was difficult to for me to first find a Sub 2000 at a decent price! These things are pretty popular.

Most of the rifles I found were all out-of-state and many dealers won't sell to us here behind enemy lines in California.

Last, it took me awhile to find a dealer who would do the modifications before shipping to my FFL.

But then I found a Class 7 FFL down the street and most of those problems evaporated!

That thing looks like it would break if you dropped it, especially all the el cheapo optics. Nothing against you at all, I just don't like Keltecs and airsoft optics/lasers. Shoot it until it all breaks, and then I would save my $$ for something of quality.

Ah ok. Ya these are pretty cool little guns. Have you checked out tacticool products? They make a slip on rubber cover for the butt stock tube that makes the cheek weld 100xs better feeling. Also makes the tube a lil more thicker which helps raise your head for better sight picture.

They make a few neat little sub2k products that are fairly cheap. But looks like you did 2 of them for free yourself. The rubber cover for the stock tube is a must though on this gun

xxINKxx: I just shot 200 rounds through her two days ago and didn't find the cheek weld bad at all, but I'm shooting with a stock extension AND a limbsaver, so my face is against rubber and polymer, not the buffer tube. Plus I don't think I can still fold it with the weaver attached and the tube cover - it's pretty tight now.

What model are you shooting?

I dont see how this is a build, but nice rifle. Would like to pick up a pistol caliber carbine at some point, but they all just dont look right to me.

Nice. Mine is the 9mm Glock 19/17 version. They are all the same as far as size and aesthetics. I just have the minimum length pad (1/2" piece of foam buttpad zip tied) my cheek sits dead center of the steel buffer tube and it sorta sucked
