      CC Stingers. That's my Zombie .22 medicine.

      And the director of DOD and 300, zack Snyder, IS a gun owner -- but as stated above, the studios always want to increase the "drama" and so request things that don't make sense. A few well equipped gun owners and most Zombie movies would be ten minutes long.

        If I recall correctly the chapter in World War Z that tells the story of the air crew member who's plane crashed doing a supply drop describes a specialized .22 carbine type rifle that was made to kill zombies.
