Big hole upper on standard lower

Has anyone been able to do this succesfully?

I have the offset bushing. It is a tight fit around the takedown pin and loose inside the lower hole.

I've seen some people say to epoxy the bushing in the hole on lower, but that doesn't make sense because nothing could pivot.

I'm thinking about KNS screw type takedown pin http://www.midwayusa.com/Product/384...er-ar-15-matte

Tap it in part way, rotate until alinged, then tap the rest of the way and tighten down.

    Any ideas?

    big hole upper

I just run my colt large upper on a standard lower. There is slop between the upper and lower receivers, but it still hits torso size steel targets out to 300 yds with iron sights all day long. The play was annoying at first, but then I got used to it. Function is perfect.

That's the accuracy I'm looking for anyway.

      I just might try that.

My prob was I had a large hole lower with a small hole upper. I use to use those offset pins but it was a PITA..the nut would work loose..when opening up the weapon for cleaning sometimes the pin would bind. Finally I picked up a large hole upper from Daniel Defense and sent it to Colt to assemble the new upper..I've been a happy camper ever since.

Uppers are $80 bucks, why not just swap it out?

I didn't want to go with a new upper receiver because I am trying to throw something together using left over parts and some cheap new ones.

I got cheap collapsible and pinned it open and one of those $69 lowers at Turners. I also got one of cheap Hammerhead blems. I also took off the flash hider and put on a muzzle break. So far I'm at just over $200

I have the offset pin and it's working fine for me on my other build.
