Something to take into consideration about the blackout, I have one pinned to my Noveske upper, after every shot there's a "biiiiiiiiiiiing" sound coming from the flash hider. If you find that annoying don't consider that one. If mine wasn't pinned I'd surely be getting another type of flash hider. Can't take it off without it being destroyed and taking a loss so I'll just deal with it. I didn't get a defective one, several other people here on Calguns have told me theirs does the same thing.

I would buy the one that looks the best or sounds the best to you. Personally, i would get the Noveske. Or whichever one is available in gold plate.

Well they use the vortex and blackout because they both do their jobs extremely well but they both ping and it annoys me too. I think the blackout is actually even worse than the vortex but it could just be me. I actually wish they just used the good ol phantom as their base fh

Yes, it does it's job extremely well but there's a set back. If I could've chosen, I would of chosen a different type.

Is there such thing as a muzzle break/flash hider?

Totally agree. There are a couple that are comp/fh combos which kinda sacrifice a little each way. I would give up a little flash to not hear the ping

I only noticed the ping on mine (on my scar 17) after I read about it here!
Maybe I didnt really notice because it was considerably quieter than it was before when I had a PWS comp on it.

                    Shoulda never read the thread.

I'm determined to find a way to stop the "piiiiiiiing" sound. But On the bright side, if you're shooting at metal targets, everyone around you will think you're making every single shot.
