scope mount for Mosin Nagant

Hi fellow Cal gunners,

I just purchased a Mosin Nagant 91/30 from Big 5. Was hoping maybe some of you can give me some help on what is a good brand scope mount and scope to use on it? I know the original PU scopes are good but they aren't cheap and cost 3x more then the rifle itself and would require a gun smith. Is there a scope mount that requires no gun smith that works pretty well?

I asked this for my cousin for his big5 91/30 a while back and the cheapest mount/scope combo is around $100 with a cheap tasco or bushnell scope. Everyone says go PU but like you said they run about $300 last I checked. But the PU look is awesome because it looks straight from the war IMO. but like you said for that rifle a little pricey and some can't shoot a 2 MOA to save their lives. But some can shoot really well. My cousns isn't one of them lol

Sorry I'm not much help but the market for the scope mount combo is kinda small for 91/30's and kinda $$.

The Big 5 in Daly City has in stock 2 kits for the M91/30. Kit contains a sling, butt stock cushion, scope, and accessories for mounting the scope scout style- no tapping or drilling.

I don't know the brand of the scope and can't vouch for the quality.

I have this on my mosin nagant and its pretty much zero'ed in.
