The DD lite doesn't come with a QD sling mount so if you want to run a 2-pt sling and add a sling mount it will end up weighing more than a Omega.
As for the RIS... do you have a M203 40mm grenade launcher? If not, there's no point in geting a RIS.
I run a 11" Larue rail on my 16" middy and I'm happy. Its the perfect lenght based on where I hold it and where I mount the light. 10" wouldn't have allowed me to get the light in the right position for me. Here's a picture of a 16" middy with 11" rail. The rail extends past the gas block by about 0.25" to 0.5".
