    CMMG Inc. Uppers, any good?

    Gentlemen,

What is your opinion on CMMG AR 15 uppers and the company in general? I have a deal on a CMMG M4 .223 upper and I am conidering buying it for my next AR build.

Would I be better off spending more on a Stag or DD upper?

    Just looking for some input.

In MY opinion CMMG are pretty good uppers. I also say Stag is about the same quality. If you can get a DD then get it. I hear they are pretty good also but if money is an issue then the CMMG is good to go. Check around on reviews of the CMMG.

Good bang for buck, good customer service. I have 4 CMMG uppers LOL

*Edit: you can get them with 1/7 twist or 1/9... two of mine are 1/9

CMMG is good to go. I've had a CMMG upper AR for a couple years now and love it. Zero issues whatsoever. I'd gladly buy another.

Their barrels are rifled with a 1/7 twist, and I believe Stag is 1/9, so if that is of importance to you, it may be something to consider. Other than that I wouldn't pay any more for a basic M4 style upper.

+1 for customer service as well.

I currently have a CMMG complete upper (BCG, CH, Barrel, Upper etc..) and it has about 1,000+ rounds through it and literally no problems whatsoever. IMHO CMMG is good to go!

My experience with CMMG has been outstanding.
If given a choice between a CNNG and a Daniel Defense for the same price, I would take the DD. Resale value would be better in my opinion.

CMMG is military grade stuff, read their specs and you'll see that.

I've been very pleased with my CMMG stuff, pretty much Stag, Spikes, CMMG, BCM.... are all on par with each other. Seems Noveske, DD, YHM, Larue, are more of the "high end" stuff, but for a premium price too.

I'm also very pleased with my new version CMMG 2 stage trigger.

Not to nitpick, but FYI, "A3" uppers are the standard feed ramp, flat tops for rifle configurations; "A4" is the 'M4' - cut feed ramp forging (originally) designated for the actual 'M4' Carbine.

+1. I don't quite have 1K thru mine, but it just runs and runs. A quick boresnake and she's all clean.
