would this .50 caliber rifle be legal?

its not a semi automatic, but it has other features, so would it still be an assault weapon?

If it's a rifle chambered in 50BMG it is an "assault rifle" that is illegal to own in CA unless it was registered before the "ban."

If it's a .50 BMG rifle, then it is banned by itself whether or not it has other features.

CA doesn't ban 50 BMG chambered firearms, just 50 BMG chambered rifles. If a gun is not a rifle (pistol, AOW, tripod mounted long gun, etc) it is not illegal for it to be chambered in 50 BMG.

So, theoretically you can build/buy a pistol chambered in 50 BMG, or even a semi-auto M2, which I've seen done.

You can have an .50bmg in Kalifornia if you dont use a buttstock. there is thread in here somewhere of a guy doing it.

I'm pretty sure there are some laws against any caliber .50 or larger unless it's a shotgun...

so you could modify a .50BMG to .4999999BMG and it'd be ok

PC limits it to 60cal actually.

And 510DTC is just a slight modification on 50bmg, and thus GTG for a rifle

Especially with the 80mm objective option.

Yep, you can own a .50 DTC rifle which has identical ballistics and uses the same load components. A number of manufacturers offer this caliber as an option. Or, you could go with an M2HB, but it doesn't have the same blast and overpressure fun factor and is way more $$.

What brand rifle is that in the video? The left side charging handle is unusual. That optic setup is spectacular!
