Charging handle upgrade....

Are there any benefits to upgrading your charging handle to a VLTOR from a stock one the comes with lets say a RRA upper kit?

I didn't think there was much to them. Then the Noveske upper showed up with one and I still don't understand all the hoopla. It is stronger/bigger and has a bigger latch, but ....

Its not a big deal... especially for a hobbyist.

I upgraded the one on my bench rifle since it was harder to charge with the scope mounted over it, so it was nice to have a larger latch.

My carbine is stock, and will stay that way unless I need to change it.

It's easier to grab just one side of the latch when you have optics in the way.

The point of the BCM/Vltor GunFighter charging handle is to get rid of the weak link in the normal charging handle.

The weak link being that little tiny roll pin that holds the latch to the handle.
