    Double feed issue.

I'm gonna start by saying I built this AR15 from the ground up. Went and shot it yesterday for the first time and it worked well as I thought it would. Fired 11-15 rounds and it was fine. After that, I kept getting a double feed after a double feed. It double feed at least five times. I was using Fiocchi rounds, a pinned 10/20 mag, heavy buffer. Just mentioning these things if these could be the issue. I may be forgetting something. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Is it really "double feed" or is it spent cartridge jamming the next feed? I cannot see two rounds being fed from the magazine jamming your rifle.

I should've taken a picture of it when it happened. After firing, the round extracts and the next following round goes half way into the chamber and the following round follows as well tries to go into the chamber but still left halfway into the magazine. It could just be the mag itself. Not sure where the issue is

Did you try a different mag?

Can you take a picture of your feedramps since you built it yourself its possible you have the wrong upper receiver and extension.

What kind of buffer system are you running you said H buffer so I'm assuming a carbine.

sounds like its under gassed. check to see if the gas block has moved foward. just loosen adjust and then re-tighten

if it was under gassed, it wouldn't extract the round. that isn't the OPs case.

the bold emphasizes that it's trying to load 2 rounds. a case of bad feed lips.

I'm thinking bad mag or you need an extractor replacement. What brand BCG do you have? was it previously used?

Please explain what you are talking about. Its perfectly fine to NOT comment when you have no idea what the problem is. When you really don't know what you are talking about your BS answer just confuses the OP more. If you had said electrical interference from the Sun you would probably be closer to the truth than "undergassed."

Normally this type of double feed points to the magazine. AS the Bolt is ramming the top cartridge into battery, the tension on the next round and position of the next round allows it to follow with the first.

Coatings on ammo can cause this as well. As the ammo cases heat up with the spent gases from the previous shots, the cases get sticky. As one is feeding into the chamber it picks up another one for the ride.

I was just wondering if you have more then one magazine to try?

I have a similar problem (well it's sounds exactly the same) but I've narrowed it down to one bad magazine, I have like 10 mags, and finally decided to label them all so I could find the bad guy. Took it out of rotation and problem went away.

easy way to tell is when a mag is fully loaded, look to see if the top of the mag looks bulged or out of spec. i had a mag that was so bad that you couldn't put the mag into the gun.
