Need review on Noveske gen 2 N4

I'm thinking about buying one of these rifles. I'm not to sure if I want to get the SS barrel or the standard barrel. I'm also leaning toward the one that comes with the Vltor VIS. Other than that I'd really like to hear everyone's opinion on the rifle.

I'm not really going to be doing any long distance shooting with it so I'm thinking I might not need the accuracy of the SS barrel. I already know that it's going to only get an Aimpoint T-1 on it.

Really need to know if it picky when it comes to different types of ammo?

This is the model I'm looking at the most.

Noveske is Tier 1 operator material. You'll be fine

I've got this one and it shoots great:

Noveske chrome lined hammer forged barrels are still accurate.

Think of it as SS for high precision shooting and chrome lined hammer forged barrels for hard and prolonged use.

I have a 14.5" N4 Lo Pro with the CHF barrel and I love it. I used to have two Noveske rifles but recently sold my 14.5" N4 Basic MOE.

I also decided to not go with the stainless steel barrel. From what I've read, CHF barrel is capable of taking much more of a beating. It is a machine gun barrel after all.

As far as the Vltor VIS is concerned, I think monolithic rails look great and can add some rigidity to your rifle but it makes disassembling and tinkering with your rifle (if you're in to that kind of thing) more difficult. I spoke to Joel from Noveske a few months back because I too was also debating on whether to go monolithic or not and he brought up some good points. He said if he were to pull one out of the safe to show his friends, he would grab the one with the VIS upper because they are beautiful, but if he were to recommend one to a friend, he would go with the non-monolithic version with the SWS rail system to save some money, weight, and effort. I agreed with him. Just my .02.

I haven't had an opportunity to try too many different types of ammo with it. I primarily use Federal Bulk .223 available at Walmart. ~2000 rounds through mine without any problems.

Either way, if you end up getting any Noveske, I think you'll be happy with it. Let us know what you decide!
