    PWS Muzzle Brake

Hey guys. Looking to buy a muzzle brake and I am leaning towards the FSC556.

I'm really not looking to spend over about $90. They have one hear for pretty cheap....

Basically I'm looking to hear if you had $90 to spend on a muzzle brake, would you buy this one or another one?

I have heard great things about others such as the Battlecomp and the Surefure but they are expensive.

FYI, I am using the rifle for basic range plinking and maybe a few carbine courses. I have no interest using it for home defense (I have a Sig for that) so if there is a lot of sound or flash, I don't really care.

I want something that will help with muzzle rise for quick follow-up shots and something that looks tacticool.

    Thanks guys.

It's a good comp for the price and they price they are selling it at is better. You'll be happy with your purchase.
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

I've never used a fsc556 (although I'm waiting to put one on a build)

I have however used the fsc30 (.308) and its pretty amazing. No one gets angry at me for the "shockwave" concussion. Its soft shooting and keeps the muzzle down as advertised. I'd actually go with it right now over the battlecomp, yet I haven't done apples to apples comparison. I currently have a bc1.5 on my 14.5 build

I got the pws tto which is the short version of the 556... Works well! U won't be disappointed. Def less recoil and it isn't as loud to your neighbors as you read on the net.... At least I never had a problem...

I've heard good stuff about the miculek comps from DPMS, but they do some damage to the ears over other stuff. I actually have one on my newest AR, but have yet to test it out at the range. $50 is still a bit for me since I could care less for comps, but I don't think you would complain...

            It's muzzle brake not break.

That is an awesome price for the FSC556. I have one on my XCR and it is amazing. It is also the factory standard for the FN SCAR.

Other options in the same price range is Spike's Dynacomp and Rainier Arms' XTC. Search all 3 on youtube and you will find plenty of compelling videos.

The XTC and FSC both have some flash suppressing properties (but do not hide all flash). The Dynacomp does not, it's more like a budget Battlecomp.

Great. Thanks guys. That's enough for me...It's on the way...

No problems removing the factory muzzle brake from my Stag Model 3 right? Looks pretty self explanatory but I don't want to start wrenching on it until the new one gets here though. Is there a special wrench with a softer material than a Craftsman open end wrench so I don't scratch the surface?

Also, just to be 100% sure before doing this, they don't break any "evil" california laws right? I have a bullet button and 10 rounders. Thanks.

                Nope!

Put duct tape over the part of your wrench that touches the comp

Nope because it's a comp and not a flash suppressor

You're good. Post pics when you're done.

No one has your particular Stag Model 3, so who knows. Depends on how tightly the factory BRAKE was installed.

Tape up the barrel near where you'll be working with painter's tape. And even if you get it scratched up, so what. It's gun, a tool. Not a delicate dress or piece of jewelry. And yes, there is a muzzle device wrench. Google it. A box wrench does the same thing.

If your barrel is at least 16" long, why would it? And it's a federal law... not specific to CA.

Oh, btw u might need some very thin washers to get the pws fitted properly. Just a crush washer may not work to get it properly aligned.

The PWS will come with a crush washer at least mine did. I have both a PWS and Battlecomp. PWS is the best in that pricepoint.

Crush washer is fine. If you're actually going to attach a suppressor regularly (not likely in this state) then peel washers and some rocksett is a better option.

JP, you will not be disappointed and it is in your price range.

I love mine! Might have to pick one of those up for a future build at that price!
