right bolt, left eject

now that i am down for a few weeks due to a shoulder surgery, i have been pondering a few ideas another bolt gun build. how does a right hand bolt, left eject port sound? in my head it seems like a great idea as i can see the round being feeded from a mag or if i have a misfeed/bad extraction i can spot the problem right away. but does anyone have any first hand experience with one? i know savage was making a pattern like this (may still be, not sure). or is this idea an result from too much free time and all the pain killers?
