When I saw the pics he added, I thought he was referring to the forward grip. Also, I didn't realize the ones he was talking about didn't have rails.

Go hold a rifle by the barrel itself and put about 10 rounds down range, you should understand very quickly what a handguard is.

Technically, they could also be called tongue guards for those who have ever put ten rounds down range and touched the barrel with their tongue.

why not just get a Magpul MOE????? Way better quality and plenty of space to put your stuff. Sure there may not be a top rail, but you really don't need a top rail on a budget build. Magpul is to Tapco as YHM is to UTG

Its also more money, so you can expect that correct? Like I said I don't care if its the most awesome thing to hit an ar since well me :-) But thanks everyone, I know we all have our own opinions, And thats what makes cal guns great.

I added the pictures, not him. I put both a "regular" handguard picture and a rail picture just so he could see both types (and where it went on the gun).
