The whole point of the KRISS was to make a .45 ACP SMG that was controllable on full auto. I would only own one if it was full auto.

those are two completely different guns. figure out which one you'd get more enjoyment out of owning and go with that. the SCAR would most likely be limited to outdoor range use. The KRISS can be shot at most any indoor range. Ammo and associated set up costs (optic, etc) for the SCAR are a lot higher. it just depends on what your uses are and budget is.

I played with a KRISS at a gun show a week ago. I actually like the balance, and I found it rather light.

However, I went the MSAR AUG route once, and the company is now bankrupt. I won't buy a rifle from a small company again.

If the KRISS was made by a larger company, I might risk it...

I am contemplating buying a SCAR 16 soon (if I can ever sell my 1911). However, the SCAR 17 is TOTALLY different than the KRISS.

Scar all the way. If your looking for a pistol cal carbine,
The hk USC is nice and it's relatively affordable (for an hk)

Where did you here that the 20" model will be available later this year? I was under the impression that the SSR will be ridiculously more expensive than the 17 and not be readily available for civilian purchase.

I'd go with the Scar 17 in black. In tan, the rifle doesn't match at all, about 3 different tans in the same rifle.

The KRISS Super V is weird with a small compact body and a long barrel. If I was out of state and could get an SBR, that would be a good option, but with the long barrel I'll pass.

I'm getting it from an FN dealer in MO. My original price was 2650 shipped.

Instead I sent him my Scar 16 and a mo for 500.

He's an awesome dealer. Sportsman's Paradise, the owner is Steve. He'll give you a fair deal.

I have handled a Kriss myself at a dealer, very cool gun, but I wouldn't want one unless it was of the machine gun variety. The SCAR 17 is on my wish list; a gun completely opposite of the Kriss.

Go with the Scar out of those choices but I will add at least with the KRISS you can find and buy magazines.

thats changing as we speak, FN is going to have a regular supply available online
in their webstore. I believe they are taking pre-orders already (which I should jump on!)

Do you want to trade your 17 for my 16 it came in multicam from the factory.

                                Not in a million years!
Financially tempting considering I quit my job and went back to school, so putting up the cash to shoot 762nato/308 isnt the easiest thing for me to do I love this gun far too much.

Besides, Ive got a LMT based pistol for when I need my 5.56 fix

Do you really have a factory multicam scar, or are you just making a reference to the mismatched factory FDE (which mine is as well)?
If so, Id love to see it!

edit: and yeah, the MWS is a really nice gun too, very different from a SCAR though (although considering this started as SCAR17 vs Kriss, I guess it is a bit closer of a comparison).
MWS is another thing I considered (along with the REPR) but ultimately I wanted something a bit more removed from the AR platform
