    Winchester Model 94

Anyone know of a good place to get good prices on Winchester Model 94 parts. Looking specifically for a sight hood and Tang peep sight to complete this beautiful gun.

Marble arms has a good selection of tang sights and peep sights, plus they have some nice vintage sights available.

The one I'm fixing up is a '71 model 94 Winchester. If I could find a vintage Tang site that dates to the same period as my '58 model 94, I was thinking about getting one for it also. What's everyone's thoughts on that. Would adding a tang or peep site to a pre-64 model winchester hurt or help the value? The '58 belonged to my grandfather, so it's just put up for storing to pass down to future generations. My '71 is a regular deer killing machine.

Can't hurt the value, especially if its authentic to the age of the gun and installed properly.

I'm torn between adding to Grandpa's gun or leaving it the way he had it. I do want to maximize it's value at the same time.... Decisions....Decisions... I may just buy the sight and keep it in the box with the gun for now.

If in doubt leave it as it is. But having the sight and keeping it in the box is a great compromise. That can only add to the guns value, especially if you can find a nice display case for it all.

I don't think you're going to find a 1958 tang sight. They'd been pretty much replaced by the "gallows" type of peep sights made by Lyman, Redfield, and Williams. Cowboy Shooting brought the tang sight back into favor. Adding a steel peep to it would be keeping with the period. The current versions made by Lyman (66) and Williams (Fool Proof) are aluminum.

Anyone have an extra peep or tang sight laying around too? LOL... To get one from the 50's era, it's going to set me back about $175-$200...for authentic antique

If anyone has a better deal on one, let me know..
