Convert "Banned" Bushmaster XM15?

I had the same question as the thread starter question. I paid a buddy 100 buks in 1986 for an upper Colt ar-15 sp1 because he put another upper on it with a longer barrel. 3 months ago I find it in my safe and extensively read everything I could on Calguns. The upper had only 20 rounds fired through it and has the M16 style BCG. It now is Ca. legal and did it fairly inexpensive.
