Looking to buy a BCM upper (seem to be a good bang for the buck). I am wanting the 16" battle rifle. I am debating between 4 but I am not sure why some cost more than others. Does the rails justify the price difference? I am not concerned with rail length too much. Just wanting input or suggestions. Please feel free to suggest one not listed. I no longer live in CA (AZ now) so person to person might be difficult.

Your money is definitely in the rail systems. Look at getting an upper and then adding your rail onto it later if you want to. Allot of the time you wont need a complete quad rail set up. Maybe just a few strategically placed pieces of rail. Just a thougt. -
Well, the first one has a monolithic upper receiver, so that explains the price in some part. The cheapest one has a Troy rail, which isn't bad, but it's definitely a more affordable option as rails go. The third one has a Daniel Defense rail, and the fourth has a LaRue, both of which are top notch and not cheap.
Personally, I'd go with the one with the LaRue rail, but they are all pretty equal in that department. I don't think the monolithic one is worth that much more.sigpicComment

They are all free floated. Sometimes it's hard to tell just by looking at pics unless you're familiar with the different brands and models. One way to tell is that most FF rails require the removal of the delta ring. I believe there are some Daniel Defense models that don't.sigpicComment
