Pretty nice set up. I'll get some measurements for those asking.

Unfortunately, due to an inversion of some kind, the wolf den was abandoned.
They have a territory range of a few hundred miles and have likely moved to a cooler den.

We went up high were temps are normally much cooler. Unfortunately it was the opposite
of normal and the temps were 30 degrees hotter higher than they were lower. Still, we didn't
call in any coyotes and that's a good sign. Wolves viciously kill coyotes that come in their range.
The absence of coyotes means the wolves are still in the area. We also found a semi-recent young bull elk kill.

No bears, no cougars. Found a huge field of berries that looked untouched by bears..
Found some recent cougar sign but it was a small one or perhaps a large bobcat.

Either way, The SCAR was easy enough to hike with all day.
It's also nice to know you've got a reliable gun that can bang out 20rnds of
7.62 while hunting all predatory animals.

      Pics from today:

I've been looking into some of the scopes mentioned:

      March
      S&B
      Leupold
      IOR
      Premiere

I honestly feel the S&B 1-8 x24 short dot is gonna be the heat for this gun.
Looks like they've pushed back the release on several occasions now

Wait for the Premier before deciding. I liked the way they approached this issue and in the prototypes I saw, was the most usable at close range and at distance. It's FFP reticle is clear and clean at 8x and at 3x or less switches to a SFP red dot that automatically illuminates. I hope production scopes prove just as useful.

I figured the premier is available right now since there is no deposit on CS Tactical like the S&B and the F1 w/MLR2. I was going to get it when I get my bonus in October. I really have no clue why the Leupold is so expensive I would only look at Premier or S&B you could buy both for the price of the Leupold that will never happen again.

It's looking like the Premier has undergone a redesign and is expected
                to be available next month.

The S&B is also expected next month.

Right now, the Premier looks good. Either or, I'm not sure.
The S&B has the H58 reticle and I am intrigued by it.

Hey, at least I have it narrowed down to two scopes I cant have yet
                right?

Mike at CS was a big help today. Either way I go, that's where I'm buying.

What did changes did Premier make to it? I've always heard Mike @ CS Tactical gave great customer service but I never called him. Make sure you do a review of the scope man I've wanted one since January. Those 1-8x scopes seem like the perfect magnification for your 17 or any other semi .308 gun.

From what I understand, the Premier was a 1.1x as most of the others are as well, but they're trying for a true 1x. At least that's what I heard.
