Is the JP handguard really light? It looks kind of heavy with so much metal.

It works the same as on any other AR, the side charger does not affect this.
I have since removed the standard charging handle as it is redundant, and made a Delrin plug.
I have revised my rifle and the Delrin plug is now more rounded and refined.

The JP hanguards are some of the lightest available, the best thing about them is the actual handguard, not the receiver nut, will work on AR15s as well, they are the same for both.

Cool, I did read the other thread where you had mentioned the CH still works if your in a pinch, I am digging you other rifle as well. . . again nice job
