Best bet is to select the upper you are most comfortable with - Then reload or buy your ammo based on the balistics you need...

IMO - 24" is ideal for use with factory loads......

I'd go with a 24"-26" if it was me for that distance.

Longer barrel for sure if you're trying to get out to 900 yards.

                  26 for 900 to 1000 yards - that 4 to 6 inches can make a difference.

The longer barrel will give you more velocity with any bullet (with the right load) which will give you a flatter trajectory and beat the wind better.

If you really want to shoot long range I would get away from the Federal 150 grain.

Black Hills 175 will get to 1K. They are expensive but if you are shooting that far you are looking for quality not quantity.

sierra bullets in 168 and 175 grains. No problem with 600 to 800 yards on paper.
