Maximum range for Tannerite (Exploding Target)

What is the farthest I can shoot with a 223 to set off an exploding target?
Also, are they legal on BLM land?

Whether it's legal or not, if a Ranger sees or hears the explosion, expect a visit from him/her.

A fiend of mine said he couldnt get it to go off with a 260 shooting 139 Scenars at 600 yards. Ive had no trouble with my 308 with 178 A-Maxs out to about 400 yards but thats about as far as Ive shot it.

Most people are leaning towards staying AWAY from Tannerite

I took my last bottle to AZ and blew it up in Parker and do not plan on getting anymore unless something changes or I am out of state

but like anything else, you can make your own choices but remember legal fees can be pricey

I called DOJ and the agent I spoke to said it is up to the individual DA's if they want to pursue anything but it would not be that difficult for them to "win"

I believe there has been a Calgunner that had charges brought against them but won with a very good lawyer but still had consequences

I have seen guys at cherry creek shoot them out to about 250ish yards with there AR's.
