    Rifle ranges in SoCal??

Hey all! i am currently waiting for my remington 700 police to get out of jail. I have been trying to find rifles ranges in SoCal, however, my good friend "google search" gives me everything with the word "rifle" in it, so i havent found anything really.

I know of Angeles thats about it.

I am in Orange County. Anyone have any other ranges they can tell me about??

    Thanks a bunch!

The other two I know are Burro Canyon & Lytle Creek. I think Burro would be closer to you as Lytle is 30-40 mins from me(san bernadino county)

Raahauges in Corona. Cons = $30 for 2 hours and only 100 yards out. Pros = no ammo restrictions

I shot there about 2 months ago and they didn't seem to give a crap on time, and if there's multiple shooters, its 30$ per gun owner, 10$ per non-owner. There were four of us (two owners) and we were there a good 4 or 5 hours without anyone saying anything. We were charged at the beginning and when we came back so my friends could turn in their eyes rental, one of the guys there offered us a beer and chatted for a bit. Very laid back place.

I can back this up as well. Except the guys in the front were a bit intimidating to me... maybe just had a bad day but out at the range the rangemaster, I believe his name was Hawk, was very very friendly, very laid back while at the same time being safe. Great place to shoot.

            AR owner
            Glock owner
            Mosin owner

Lytle Creek is great. its $15 a person and you can stay as long as you want. The range is up to 300 yards and the staff seems pretty friendly. Also the attendees were pretty cool as well.

I called up Raahughes to ask a few questions and the guy on the phone was pretty dickish...plus $30 for 2 hours doesnt exactly seem like a good deal (especially compared to Lytle)

Ill most likely only go to Raahughes for events like Appleseed or such. $30 isn't worth it..I'll go to the farther Lytle

Raahughes ...they are only strict on the 2 hour time limit on the weekends when they are really busy. That's Monday-Thursday as I was told you can shoot for as long as you like...
Also unbeknownst to me at the time they also have this *thing* were you are encouraged to tip Hawk or John $10 per party for their service like helping you zero your rifle...so ends up for a single shooter $40... Nice guys though!
If I remember correctly they also have a yearly membership for $400 if you so choose . No installment plan -- I already asked... 8-)

In all my phone calls for anything gun related (ranges, stores, etc), every single person has always been impatient/kind-of-a-dick lol. It'd be nice if employees realized that just because some people are clueless and ask inane questions over the phone, doesn't mean you should automatically treat every caller like they are an insane waste of your time.

These 2 ranges are really far from OC

I still prefer ASR to all other ranges in the LA Area. Steel from 100-600 and you can setup your paper from 100-200. They got clay throwers and a real nice pistol gallery. $15 gets you on all of it for the entire day. Use a $2 off coupon from their website.

A lot of my buddys who live in OC go to burro. Never been. I head up to barstow area to get some longer range shooting in. I think burro is like 30 min from here. Another one I head of is Angels.

$40? Ugh. Well, I guess that's kind of cool you can shoot longer than 2 hours but still a big "NO" to this range. Wish Prado had less restrictions right now. Think the only thing that Corona range had over Prado (for my shooting) was that you could shoot 50 yards farther.

I just make two days of it, go up to "A Place to Shoot" in San Francisquito Canyon above Santa Clarita, stay in a cheap motel on I-5 and go hunting the next day in Ventura County and then back that evening to the OC when the commuters are at dinner. If it's not hunting season, I stay overnight in Santa Clarita or up by Lake Elizabeth or at a campground in the NF and do two consecutive days at "A Place to Shoot". But if you go, phone ahead and make sure there isn't a "Red Flag Alert" in the National Forest! That closes the range.
