That is way too close for recreational shooting....Unless you wear body armor on a daily basis...

I think they make two different ones for the ACOG. IMHO, the larue is overkill for the optic unless you plan to take it off on occasion and re-mount it. dont get me wrong, im a huge supporter of Larue and run allot of there products, (as you can see in my rate my rifle thread) but if it is allways gonna stay on, check out the A.R.M.S. mount. less money and rock solid. and i shoot my trij acog at the 400 steel all the time. any reason you dont wanna stretch it out?

I have one on a rifle with an A2 stock and love it. I keep it on the second to last notch and it works great for me. I don't feel nearly as hunched over my rifle as I used to and am much more comfortable when I shoot. Because of that, it speeds up how fast I can get my crosshairs on target for three gun. Is it totally necessary? No, but I like it. Like most firearms accessories, it's all personal preference. I say go for it, you can always mount it up more if need be.

You don't have to lie. Your "girlfriend" shoots with an A2 stock? It's alright if you're a little guy

A few of the key board warriors have really made a big deal about how far back this mount sits.

Maybe this will help get you guys back on track.

I don't want to punch my self in the face with my ACOG but I want mount I can use with a 20" AR15 with A2 stock.

LaRue tatical claims they this mount was designed by request (maybe it was by nick562 girlfriend).

I tend to wear soft body armor or somtimes a plate carrier.

Is there anyone that has real world experience with a mount like this or can suggest a mount for my ACOG.

I was also looking at the issued ARMS #19 LD mount

I have this mount for my ACOG, it works great, you don't have to have it mounted all the way back, you can mount it at any point on the upper you want for it to give you the proper eye relief. I picked it over the other Larue mount I had that had two levers on the left side, the rear one interfered with the charging handle, this one works perfectly.

you are worried about getting scope eye on a 556 based rifle?
are you sure you have shot an AR?

You can use that mount in any position on the rail, as far back or forward as you want for whatever eye relief you need. The only real difference with Larue's other ACOG mount is the second QD lever on the opposite side. I opted for the RCO mount, 1 locking lever is plenty secure. But I dont have it mounted all the way to the rear like it was intended for, mine is forward of the BUIS.
