I think you are referring to the pre-ban Colt lowers? There may be others though...

If there is not, there are off-set pins available that would allow you to attach a large pin upper to a standard, smaller pin lower.

      Something like this: http://blackrifleworks.com/colt-ar15...5e524ee8ec7871

I have got a complete spare Colt big hole upper and If I can find a lower I figured I could make another complete rifle. I used the lower with an offset pin and Sabre upper. That setup was such a pita I got a DD big hole for it and sold the Sabre.

You lost me there. You used too many pronouns and switched subects from sentence to sentence. You used which lower? And which upper was a PITA? Where did the sabre upper come into this? And what did you get a DD big hole for?

I will see if I can find a pin that converts the other way.

(edit) Here you go. Here is the part you need to convert it the other way. http://www.mapartsinc.com/productsDetail.asp?id=645 or http://blackrifleworks.com/colt-larg...ing-p-352.html

I have a complete spare 20" Colt big hole upper assembly. If I can find a big hole lower that I can button and build, I figured I could make another complete rifle inexpensively. I initially used the original big hole lower with an offset pin and 16" Sabre upper. That offset pin setup was such a pita I got a DD big hole upper for it and sold the Sabre. I dont want anything that uses offset pins or bushings ever again. If there are no big hole OLL lowers I just wont use it for a new build.

            is that clear now?

Or you could get a stripped upper and swap it out.

I have learned that you should only use a drill on other peoples stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion on the stripped upper but not too long ago I had Addax put it back to its original configuration. I had an Olympic heavy barrel in the BOYFU and it SUCKED so I had Addax build me an A2 upper for the Olympic barrel and now I am happy. I just have an extra BOYFU just sitting there although I can still use it with the RAW CKER.

Yes, that is much more clear. Got it. I saw that there were a couple of people that will convert lowers to use the large pin, but I can't find the links this morning. It can be done, but I don't know what it would cost.

DPMS Reverse Offset Bushing - allows the use of large hole uppers with small hole (standard) lowers. The part linked by guntotingmonkeyboy allows the reverse - that is, the use of a small pin upper on a large pin lower. The only large pin lower I know of is the Colt SP1.

You might also be able to put that upper up for sale and pick up a standard small pin upper - they don't seem to sell fast on Calguns, but go pretty quick on Arfcom.

I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I believe pre-ban Colts are the only lowers with the larger pins. All other manufacturers use the mil-spec standard.

Daniel Defense does make a larger hole upper.

                              Brownells has the adaper bushing:
