To the OP, you'll have more enjoyment from your AK if you don't focus so much on the finish. Arsenal or a converted Saiga are some of the best options, but these are beater work truck style firearms, not luxury sedans. Expecting otherwise is a bit foolish, no offense. The gun design's sole purpose is to win wars for Soviet Russia, and do it cheaply, not win beauty contests.

go with either wasr, vector, any from henderson, or arsenal. i prefer the 5.45 over the 7.62 due to more accuracy(not by much) but the 7.62 does hit harder, and a lot easier to find but who cares thats why there is the internet to buy a lot of ammo
The internet has given voice for the incredibly stupid people

I'm not talking about gold plating it, I'd just rather have something a little stronger and solvent resistant than the paint or enamel or whatever they come with. Why doesn't anyone just parkerize 'em and leave 'em at that?
sigpic I like to post side views of the guns, if you wanna see what they look like from the front, just come on over and let yourself in...

Yeah, I'll probably start with a Saiga, I mean, I see my future self with multiple AK's in the safe. Nobody told me guns would be addictive I'll almost certainly buy through PRK arms here in Fresno tho. You gotta support the local freedom fighters and they have great prices too.
