AR Ejection Problem?

Took my new AR assembly to the range yesterday for the first time. This is the first time I've shot an AR, fired many pistols and other bolt rifles. The weapon functioned flawlessly with 3 different brands of ammo, all 55gr FMJ - Federal AE, PMC bronze, and Fiocchi. My question is, are these normal ejection pattern marks? Brass coloring on the, whatever that part of the upper is called. And the triangular mark on the ejected case. I was watching my son shoot it and the ejection direction was 4 o'clock. All three brands of ammo did this.

Build is A 16" BCM mid length upper with BCM full auto carrier and bolt, mil spec rifle length buffer, spring, and tube.

Triangular pattern on the ejected shell? Could it be the mark left from an impact to the deflector? The brass on the deflector is normal...just wipe it off.

Yes, I'm pretty sure the triangular mark is from hitting the deflector (thanks for letting me know what that's called). So, sounds like no big deal.

You have nothing to worry about. It is definitely just brass from the spent casings hitting the deflector. Enjoy your new build.

marks on the deflector are suppose to happen.. or else there IS a problem haha. but the triangle mark on the case? If your not reloading then who cares as long as its GETTING ejected. and if you are reloading, its still no biggie

3oclock is best for ejection zone in an AR. If nothing functions out of the norm just leave it be.

The deflector is there to be hit if needed.

I had a few ARs that ejected crazy positions.(1 and 6 o'clock) I tried a couple different weight buffers til I found one that allowed it to eject better to the 3oclock position

There is a diagram online some were that says that a 3-4 o' clock ejection is on the money. That's were mine eject and the rifles run smooth.

I thought same thing rofl......I hit a guy once when I first got my Custom two. I felt bad but had to rofl watching him dance out of the corner of my eye.

mine is about 3:45 - tends to be a late lunch but that's OK... we can still eat it and not have to worry about being accused of having and early dinner
