    Halo 3 - Building a Battle Rifle BR55HB SR

    Hey Guys,

For Halloween, I'm gonna dress up as Master Chief. I'm making my own suit out of poster board, fiberglass, and "Great Stuff". It's gonna look like this when it's done (note: This is not me. This pic was taken from a website where a dude posted all the plans on how to build a Master Chief suit.)

Anyway, so here's what I need help with... I want to build the Battle Rifle from Halo. It looks like this:

The dude who posted the instructions on the suit didn't post any instructions for the rifle, so I'm seeking help from you all.

Does anyone know of a rifle that looks similar to this? I just need the dimensions of a similar rifle so that I can start designing it...

Also, this will not be a real rifle...it will be made out of fiberglass and poster board, just like the costume. Although it would be pretty cool to have the real thing...

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Umm I wouldn't suggest carrying a fake rifle around let alone a real rifle around.

It's for a private party inside a residence. The only place I'll be carrying it would be on private property.

Would this prop require an orange tip?

Besides, it's all about the Battle Rifle. If you're a gamer, the Battle Rifle is definitely the weapon of choice: a quick 3 round burst to the head and it's all over.

Plus, it will be fun building it.

I dont know if you've played halo 3 lately, but that doesn't seem to be the case with the br in H3 unfortunately

A few things come to mind:

                  - That sort of looks like a flash hider, so be sure to get some sort of mag lock to keep it CA compliant.

                  - Minus 2 points for using AR as an acronym for "Assault Rifle"

                  - If anything, that suit will make great girl repellent.

True. I got stop my a police officer for carrying my kjw m700 airsoft with a big orange tip around Beverly hills.. stupid of me.

But since its a private party and hopefully private property... I don't see any harm.. Orange tip it only if it shoots bbs or any projectile and be sure not to point it at anybody that is dress as a cop. He'll point back... don't want another incident.

forget the gun.. drive in with this and you'll get laid. http://youtube.com/watch?v=P1KUVmBUV-o

Hey, even if it's a indoor party it can be kind of a bad idea.

There was a party in bel air a while back and the guy was dressed like robocop or something and had a desert eagle looking fake gun. Someone called the police because it was loud or something. The guy thought the guys were dressed like police and pointed at them and he was shot dead.

Maybe you can make the light saber. That sword was cool.
