Anything in 44Mag can be useful.

Is this the lever action one, or the one that's semiauto and takes the rotary 4rd magazine (whcih shares some similarities to that of a 10/22's)?

I have not heard anything bad about them, have no idea of accuracy (that is, in comparison, with a Marlin or Henry or Winchester 94 lever-action carbine)

I've been looking for one (so far unsuccessfully) for quite a while now.....If you have a good source, please do share....

Are you getting a 99/44 (magazine fed) or an older .44 carbine (tube fed)?

I would love to have one of these with a few 30 round mags(I know they aint legal or being made) it would be a great compliment to a 44mag revolver in a SHTF situation. ultimate pistol carbine

I think the older, tube fed would be more usefull since you could re-load or top off the tube with out having to remove the magazine, like a shot gun.

They have one for rent at Iron sights in O'side.. I don't think they are made anymore, but it looked neat. Nobody ever made a carbine one (outside of the 4 shot 99/44) because there aren't any pistol mags that you could adapt to one (being a wheelgun round and all). There is actually a 99/44 magazine at iron sights in the junk discount bin for $10 or something.

Never say never....I was trying to figure out how to get it to take Desert Eagle magazines....

And as for wheelgun rounds in autos, the Coonan feeds .357mag just fine....
