Currently LRB is building complete rifles faster than manufacturing M14SA receivers. A shooting friend of mine ordered a receiver from LRB in June 2006 and just recently received his order three weeks ago. At the time there was a 14 to 15 month wait. As for a complete rifle the wait is currently around 4 to 5 months I believe. Give them a call and see what they have to say.
Is the time worth it? I would say it is. LRB is the only hammer forged US made M14 receivers available. They are Mil Spec, manufactured from the original H and R Blueprints. Tolerances are very tight and the quality is first rate. The rifles are built with all USGI parts with the exception of the FH or Muzzle Brake. Ask Lou to install the Smith US Coast Guard Brake for you at the time of your build and you save about $30 off of retail. What configuration are you looking at? A 22" barrel or 18" bush rifle? USGI wood stock or USGI Fiberglass? Good Luck and keep us posted.

I ordered mine last Feb / March. Got the call that my receiver is in the next batch that should be coming back from the finisher(??) and did I still want it.

I should be getting it in the next month or so. It's going to be a rear lugged match rifle. I guess I'm just a sucker for steel & wood.

      I'm looking forward to it.

I ordered my m25 rifle in the begging of august was able to have it by the second week of september. Great rifle, however, if you try to put it on a springfield stock, the springfield stock is not to spec will need some fitting. I am now trying to order some USGI synthetic stocks. Great rifle, great out the box and just love everything about it.

Looking to pick up the standard 22" M1a, but I am wanting the dual lug receiver and the Big Birch Stock (I can pick one up from Fred's if LRB does not have one). Not sure if they can make the dual lug version for me, if not, I will stick with the standard.

I have been shooting M1A's for years (Springfield Armory and a couple of Fed Ord's I used to have) and I just love this rifle, but now I want the best one currently mfg'd for the civilian market.

I love this rifle, for its simplicity, accuracy and ruggedness.

I will ask for Lou and discuss the options with him. I like the Smith Brake option, thanks for the tip

I called and placed an order with Lou on April 3rd of this year and got my phone call last week saying my turn was up. I just paid them the day before yesterday so I should be seeing it at my FFL within the next week or so. I haven't confirmed with LRB but from what I have heard, they put complete rifle builds at a higher priority than people who just want a receiver. I'll take some pics when I get it.

              No wait time for me

Last month, I called and he had the M25 in stock. So I ordered it. I just recently traded it for an AR10 though.

I tried to give Cal Gunners a shot at it, but you will always find haters in every group of Californians, they did not like the idea I only wanted to trade for it So I took the add down. Reason I only wanted to trade instead of cash because I think both sides would have gotten more value.

I think the price is pretty decent too (for the M25). For $1000 you get a USA Forged receiver with a scope mount. If you go polytech, you will probably pay more (since you have to buy a scope mount).

It is beautiful hunk of metal and like others said, it is the only USA made Hammer Forged M14 Reciever.

              Here is some M25 porn:

Once you hold an LRB w/ USGI parts (have Lou build it w/ a USGI barrel if you can get a hold of one), you will be amazed at how much lighter and better balanced an LRB is compared to an M1A Standard. It's probably not much when looked at objectively but subjectively, they feel very different.

My dream is to one day build an M14 with an LRB M25 double lugged receiver w/ JAE-100 Stock and a Krieger Barrel.

Slap a USO SN3 on there and I would be in heaven.

If it'd speed up your wait, you might just go with the regular receiver. A rear lug doesn't really add anything but cost (especially if it doesn't have a torque screw), and it limits your options as far as stocks. A good bedding job on a standard receiver will likely stay tight through the life of the barrel.

The military teams added them so they could get all their rifles through an entire season without having to skim glass (they have to bed dozens of rifles at a time). Everyone else saw this and figured it must be a good thing.

The nice thing about the JAE stock is that it isn't supposed to be bedded. Receiver lugs exist to prolong the life of bedding. Other than that, sounds good.

Ahh that's right, you can skim bed the JAE-100 if you want but it's not really required due to the bedding block.

Could save myself some money and likely a wait by opting for the standard receiver.

FOREVER, you can't get a M1A from LRB. You can get a M14SA from LRB, but only SAi makes M1As.

It looks like LRB is catching up with the receiver orders.
