The armalite infantry weight bbl. Also ck rainier and 762sass. Though you are probably asking for dpms pattern, in that case get whatever and have it reprofiled to infantry spec.
    Seriously missing the 80's.....

Barrel only? Or complete upper w/BCG?
How about checking out Rainier or Midway. Lots of 308 pattern AR type stuff.

Thats what I was going to ask. I'm interested in a light barrel for my second upper.

Me thinks the OP is asking about "M4" contour in which case is possible.

I'm interested in this as well. My AR 308 build is almost complete but dang, the thing weighs over 11 lbs without scope or loaded mag! The 18 inch bull barrel might have something to do with it. I'd like to know what a lightweight spec is on a 308 lite.

Jesus, my 18 isn't bull barrel and its around 9lbs with BUIS but no scope, or rings. Its about 12 with my HEAVY monster steel rings and Bushnell 10x.

The bull barrels are really heavy, over 4lbs. You can knock about 2lbs off by going to a lighter profile barrel. These were the lightest on I could find when I was building my 2nd one.

Fulton Armory 18.5" - 2.4 lbs (Not 16" inch, but very light. Something to think about).

Rainier Arms 16"-20" - 2.3lbs and up. They have Armalite or Dpms pattern.

Black Hole Weaponry - They don't give weights for any of their 16" barrels, but I'm sure they'd be happy to let you know if you give them a call.

JSE Surplus - Dpms AP4 16" - It was 2.75lbs, but that was with the front sight tower and barrel nut. Take the sight tower and barrel nut out of the equation and the barrel should be right in the 2.3-2.4lb range.

These are a few choices, happy hunting.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother. Some people are just incapable of understanding the simplest of things.

For those asking infantry weight is the 308 version of the M16 pencil bbl - what rifle barrels were before the navy tests of 1968, which resulted in the hbar and the Govt bbls.
