    Bolt Action Rifle Laws?

Does anybody know of the laws reguarding bolt action rifles? Is there a flow chart for them?

Are folding stocks okay as long as the 30" OAL is met when folded? I was looking at the Accuracy International stock for the Remington 700:

Accurate. Rugged. Reliable. Accuracy International rifles are the systems of choice for military and law enforcement snipers and sporting users worldwide.

Only laws that concern bolt action rifles pertain to the barrel length and overall length.

Edit: I just saw the 50 BMG thread, which reminded me that 50 BMG is restricted in California as well.

unless it's a .50BMG or a semi-auto you have nothing to concern yourself with outside of NFA laws.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Don't go over 10 rounds unless you owned it before the ban. Can't think of any weapons it would apply to, though, off the top of my head.

The length limit of 30'' is for semiautomatic, centerfire rifles.

please cite the law that says you cant use a magazine in excess of 10 rounds unless you owned it before 99

And the minimum is 26", not 30".

30" applies only to centerfire, semiautomatic rifles.

Someone posted a more recent link to a pdf for the California firearms handbook but this is the one DOJ has on their web site. The handbook is condensed and does not cover everything in the gun laws. It does however cover many of the questions we might have.
