Mgi Modular Lower Receiver For Ar15???

Has anyone heard anything positive or negative about this lower receiver system? I am not finished with my first build and I'm already looking for a lower for the second rifle. I am considering a billet from P.O.F., sun devil, or another forged from Mega or Noveske, or this modular system from MGI. Any comments?

I like their new modular upper vs the older one. I think a few people here have the complete mgi system. Haven't been able to get much second hand info(from private owners). Only read one article on the mgi were it was called the hydra. You might want to ask on ar15.com.
2024 New Year?s resolution will be no posting..

They're supposed to be good. No real reason to choose it over another unless you want 7.62x39. Most people on here interested in that are probably waiting for a 7.62 nato configuration.

the reason I am looking into it is for just that reason. I like the idea of being able to use my pre-ban AK magazines.

          Hi,
I'm the internet sales rep for MGI.
I'd be happy to answer any questions, or help you out, any way I can.
There are alot of these MGI lowers in California, and we are California friendly, and will send them right in(stripped) as an OLL, and all you have to do is provide us with the contact of the FFL you want to transfer thru.

If you want to call me to discuss any aspect of this, I'm more than happy to talk by phone with you about it. I can take the order if you decide you want to do that. My phone # is in my signature line below.

I don't do any high-pressure, and I'm interested in giving you the most information possible for you to make an informed decision on your own.

The system is very good, very reliable, and very high quality.
The price is not cheap, but you do get the value for what you pay.

Then you should call up Tom Lyons and place your order with him so that when they are ready, he can charge your card and ship it out.

                TWL ...
Is a good guy. I have just completed my MGI build with the new upper receiver. I have a 16" and a 20" barrel , MMG, Magpul PRS Stock, and YHM muzzle break. Need to keep it featureless to retain the magazine release button.

I have yet to function fire it yet...but will do so in 2 weeks from now. I'm budgeting for the 7.62x39 for next year.

I would have to say that the MGI lower was one of the easier ones to assemble...no real difficulty in fitting all the parts and roll pins. My buddies and I have assembled GSE, Sun Devil, Superior, Fulton...so we have had a bit of a variety come thru.

I'm anticipating alot of fun with the MGI system...especially when pistol magwells become available..hopefully soon.........and maybe the .308..??

It's all based on when the company can get it into the production schedule.
As of right now, I have not been given any date.
I'm hoping for a release at the Shot Show in Feb.
                          Can't promise a date.
