    VZ 58 questions

Hello, after looking online for months on what gun to get as my first rifle in 7.62x39, i think i have finally chosen the VZ58 as the rifle i want to get in about 6 - 7 months. That being said i do have some questions.

    1) If i wanted to install a CNC Warrior muzzle break, would i be able too to which rifle? The Military or DS model?

    2) I understand that there have to be US complaint parts for them to be legal, but is there a way i could put 2 more US compliant parts inside the gun itself so i dont have to order US parts for the magazine? Also where would i find the magazines and US compliant parts as well? Also how much would the cost be?

    3) Would i be able to install the NEA Ambi safety on both the Military and DS model? Including if i went out of state and ordered the Ambi mag release would i need to order anything else to install it?

    4) Which gas block rail is better for an optic and will hold zero, the NEA or Mako?

    5) Also because of the mag lock on the CA legal models, would that mean i could install an adjustable stock and if so whom makes the best? Also how much are the options?

    6) I plan on firing FMJ, JHP and SP ammo, if i bought either the DS or Military model, would i need to say that i am firing these types of ammo? i read that JHP wouldn't feed and someone needed to send theirs back so they could feed JHP.

    7) Are there any other accessories any recommends?

Why are you asking here? Sounds like you should be asking Czechpoint these questions. If you read their web site, some of your answers are already there (like they already have the required 5 US made parts).

I have a Military classic model because I like the looks of the wood. The more rails and stuff that gets added may make it more useful, but also makes it ugly. Overall it's a decent enough rifle, but you're talking over $1000 with all the stuff you want to add. IMO, it's not worth that.

I do have a muzzle brake on mine, and I bought a Mako pistol grip, which fits my hand much better than the small wood grip.

Sounds like what you want to do is build a kit....if you look hard you might find some parts kits.

        I see, thanks.

I dont care about looks i want functionality, and to me the VZ 58 seems better then a SGL which is why i am going with the VZ 58 at the moment (i honestly dont like the VZ looks very much but i do like the functionality). Not that much i would say, i dont really count anything that can be put onto another rifle as part of the price really so i would say a few hundred dollars. Also why is that?

How do you like your muzzle break and how did you get it on?

I am also trying to fit my chosen rifle (VZ58 currently) if SHTF, hunting, (unlikely) home/self defense and as my chosen rifle for the long run since i wont be getting another one too soon after the VZ.

You really don't need a muzzle device with this gun...it funtions right out of the box...save you money for more ammo, stripper clips, and maybee a red dot optic.

In that case then what is it for? Also 25USD isnt that much for a Muzzle Break.

To look kewl...maybe if mine could do full auto I might have need of one...if you do put one on...well make sure your barrel is at least 16" long... stock VZ58 Barrels are 15+ inches long... Czechpoint had to put those barrel extensions on to meet the Requirement of 16".

Why an AK (SGL21 would be my choice) and not the VZ58?

Well the sgl's are ak's but to cover that the ak's ive built with akTeam I believe is equalif not better. At livermore range last week guys sgl was jamming like crazy on hp wolf I traded him some fmj and it started woeking my wasr and m63 aye up the hp no prob and wasr is from cai import.

I know its late, but i could barely read that. So your saying a guys SGL was jamming on Wolf JHP? Not to be rude but i dont see how that supports what you said about getting an AK first (which in my case i would pick the SGL) over the VZ58? That just gives me more of a reason to choose the VZ over the SGL21.

NorCalK9 really hates Arsenal because they were mean to California or something silly. He's saying you should build your own AK and it will be magically better.

They used to refuse to ship here (which is obviously not still the case). VZ.58s are cool, but I would definitely recommend handling one (and an AK too if you haven't already) before you make a decision.
